Racing with Time at The Peak of The Current Pandemic

All our life, we’ve known nothing but a fast-paced world. The way the alarm sets off when it feels like you just closed your eyes. How time slips when you are randomly scrolling on your phone. Your fourth cup of coffee to get through the day. Cars moving in full speed to reach its destination. A single spur of event that awakens humanity and immediately sparks change.

Whether we do much or not, time does not slow down. And as humans, we race with time with just how fast the world spins. The downside is, it continues to spin despite the pause this pandemic has caused. We seem to have been defeated by time.

Amidst the lock down this quarantine season has brought us, we’re left with solitude and partially, a time to think of what really matters.

We learn to value health and how on a large scale, preserving one is true wealth. And if you haven’t realized its significance yet, just think of all the effort the entire world is doing to preserve humankind.

We’ve come to realize that seeking refuge with outdoor nature in exchange of the vices night life has to offer is far more fulfilling. It gives you more time to think and sort things out with a clear head than waking up with a bad hang over.

We kept the people we value, closer. The type who are good for you, good to you, and is definitely good for your soul. We deal with too much stress lately that you have to choose wisely with who you spend your remaining energy with.

Some, if not majority, has taken the time to visualize on what they really want in life. Of what really makes them happy in life. Often times, the self-resolution we all have been looking for comes unexpected when you are just laying flat on your bed and staring at your ceiling. It’s feasible to set goals without submitting yourself to pressure.

Indeed, the world moved so fast, one will always feel the need to keep up. But keeping up does not limit its definition to always being on the act. Sometimes you have to mellow down and heal, appreciate what you currently have and envision things for when days ahead embrace a new normal.
